Abstract

Elementary school students' mathematical knowledge and competence remain relatively low, so it is necessary to implement innovative learning models to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts. This study aims to test the effect of the discovery learning model, assisted by WordWall media, on elementary school students' mathematical knowledge competence. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the nonequivalent control group design type. The study population was 125 third-grade students of SD, consisting of 6 (six) schools. Knowledge competence data were collected via multiple-choice tests and analyzed using inferential statistics. The results of the study showed a significant difference in the mathematical knowledge competence of students taught using the discovery learning model assisted by WordWall media and those taught conventionally. The discovery learning model, assisted by Wordwall media, proved effective in improving students' mathematical knowledge and competence. This study suggests that the use of the discovery learning model, assisted by Wordwall media, can be a strategic alternative for improving elementary school students' knowledge and competence.
