Abstract

 The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in the e-commerce ecosystem is expanding rapidly, yet a comprehensive mapping that links this technology to consumer purchase decision constructs remains limited. This study aims to map publication trends, intellectual structures, and research gaps within this domain. The method employed is a bibliometric analysis of 499 refined documents retrieved from the Google Scholar database using Publish or Perish software for the 2018–2026 period. Data analysis includes performance analysis and science mapping via VOSviewer software. The results reveal a sharp growth trajectory in publications since 2023, peaking with 201 documents in 2025. Co-word analysis uncovers ten thematic clusters bifurcated into two conceptual poles: the marketing-behavioral pole (focusing on trust, purchase intention, loyalty, and social commerce) and the technical-AI pole (focusing on sentiment analysis, NLP, transformers, and recommender systems). Temporal overlay visualization identifies generative AI and AI-driven personalization as the latest research frontiers. A critical knowledge gap is identified in the scarcity of integrated empirical studies capturing the Indonesian digital market context. These findings provide significant theoretical implications and serve as an empirical foundation for future research agendas, including systematic literature reviews and quantitative model testing.
