Abstract

This study examines the role of the East Java Provincial Cooperative and SME Agency in supporting pesantren products to go global through the OPOP Eko-Tren Program. This program was developed as an effort to economically empower pesantren by strengthening business capacity, ensuring product legality, and expanding access to international markets. The study aims to analyze the role of the East Java Cooperative and SME Agency in promoting the internationalization of pesantren products using the export assistance concept proposed by Thomas Owen Singer and Michael R. Czinkota. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, documentation, and literature review. The results indicate that the East Java Cooperative and SME Agency acts as a facilitator, mediator, and exporter of export incentives through legal assistance, certification, international promotion, business matching, and the development of global market networks. This study also found that Islamic boarding schools possess unique characteristics as a base for community-based economic development rooted in religious communities, supported by an Islamic boarding school-based export ecosystem.
