Abstract

Maqasid al-Shariah is the core objective of Islamic law that focuses on promoting human welfare (maslahah) in all aspects of life. This concept serves as a fundamental framework for ensuring that Islamic legal rulings achieve benefits while preventing harm for individuals and society. Maqasid al-Shariah is classified into general objectives, including the protection of religion, life, intellect, lineage, and property, as well as specific objectives and partial objectives that address particular legal contexts. Its application extends to various fields, including worship, economics, social affairs, education, law, and politics, while adapting to contemporary conditions and the changing needs of modern society. Through these applications, Maqasid al-Shariah provides practical guidance for addressing contemporary issues without neglecting the essential principles of Islamic law. However, its implementation continues to face several challenges, including limited public understanding, insufficient expertise among practitioners, and conflicts between Islamic values and global economic interests. Therefore, greater efforts in education, research, and public awareness are required to strengthen its implementation. In conclusion, Maqasid al-Shariah offers sustainable solutions for achieving justice, prosperity, and balanced social development based on Islamic principles
