Abstract

Employee performance refers to the work outcomes achieved by employees in carrying out their duties and responsibilities in accordance with organizational objectives. This study aims to analyze and explain the mediating role of work motivation in the relationship between servant leadership and the performance of Front Office employees at FINNS Beach Club. This study employed a quantitative associative approach involving a total sample of 70 Front Office employees at FINNS Beach Club, selected using the saturated sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. The results indicate that servant leadership has a positive and significant effect on both employee performance and work motivation. Furthermore, work motivation also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The findings further demonstrate that work motivation partially mediates the relationship between servant leadership and employee performance. These findings reinforce Social Exchange Theory, which explains that positive reciprocal relationships between leaders and employees encourage higher levels of work motivation and improved employee performance. Leaders who practice servant leadership by providing support, care, trust, and opportunities for employee development receive positive responses from employees in the form of greater work motivation and enhanced performance.
