<![CDATA[This research is motivated by the challenge of adolescent moral decadence in urban communities, which is influenced by popular culture and the pressures of industrial areas. Amidst the trend of urban Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) that tend to be accommodative towards modernity, Pondok Pesantren Nurul Iman Cibaduyut maintains a unique defensive approach to preserve the moral orthodoxy of its students (santri). This study aims to analyze Islamic education strategies in building the moral resilience of students amidst the challenges of urban society. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with 11 informants (caretakers, teachers, and students), and documentation. The data analysis utilized the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, integrated with the theory of Tazkiyatun Nafs (purification of the soul) and Social Learning Theory. The research findings reveal three main strategies: (1) the implementation of strict discipline through gadget isolation as a form of decontamination from outside influences; (2) the internalization of moral values through the intensive exemplary leadership (uswah hasanah) of the kyai; and (3) the habituation of spiritual rituals as the foundation of mental resilience. This study concludes that a "defensive-selective" approach is capable of forming a "spiritual wall" that effectively builds the students' moral resilience. In contrast to previous studies, this research asserts that controlled restriction of technological access actually serves as a key factor in strengthening the religious identity of students in a noisy urban environment.]]>
