ABSTRACT This study was motivated by the administrative challenges at MTs Yaspika Karangtawang, where the attendance system for teachers and staff is still managed manually via a web-based platform by the teacher on duty. This situation has led to various issues, such as data entry errors, the risk of data manipulation, and difficulties in compiling data. Therefore, the researcher proposes an alternative in the form of a mobile-based attendance system aimed at creating a more systematic, accurate, and efficient attendance process. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the waterfall model. The system was developed using Flutter as the framework, the Dart programming language, and Firebase as the backend-as-a-service. The system design was visualized using the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Entity-Relationship Diagram (ERD). The system features secure login via Firebase Authentication, admin and user dashboards, and its core feature location-based attendance using geolocation technology which ensures real-time attendance tracking at the school. The system’s feasibility was tested through two main stages: a Functionality Test using the Blackbox method with Guttman Scale analysis to validate the success of each feature, and a Usability Test using the USE Questionnaire with Likert Scale analysis to assess ease of use and user satisfaction. The functionality test achieved a 96% success rate, while the usability test scored 93.58%, earning a “Very Good” rating. Based on the test results, the developed system meets user needs and offers a high level of usability.
