Search strategy using keywords "virtual reality", "augmented reality", "nursing education", and "nursing simulation". From the search results obtained, the author filters articles based on the following criteria, namely quantitative research, publication year within 2018 – 2023, research in the field of nursing, academic journal, available full text, article in English, and not duplicate. After that, the author reviews the title and abstract and selects articles based on eligibility criteria, namely research variables containing article title variables, immersive virtual reality in nursing education, sample size greater than or equal to 50, and nursing students as research subjects. Results: From database search, the author got 2671 articles. After doing the filter, the author got 139 articles. Based on eligibility criteria, there were 10 selected articles. From the analysis of the 10 selected articles, it can be concluded that virtual reality is effective in enhancing nursing student competence, as assessed in terms of knowledge, self-efficacy, learning satisfaction, clinical reasoning abilities, as well as skills and performance.
