Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of the people of Dahor Village in utilizing organic waste through training on the production of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) as an effort to support sustainable agriculture. The main problems identified in Dahor Village were the high dependence on chemical fertilizers and the underutilization of household and agricultural organic waste. The method used in this activity was the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach with a participatory method emphasizing the utilization of local community assets and potentials. The stages of the activity included initial observation, identification of village potential, socialization, training, direct practice of liquid organic fertilizer production, and evaluation. The results showed that the community began to understand the importance of managing organic waste and utilizing it as environmentally friendly liquid organic fertilizer. In addition, the training improved the community’s skills in independently producing liquid organic fertilizer and increased public awareness of the importance of sustainable agriculture. This activity had a positive impact on increasing community participation, reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers, and strengthening the utilization of local village potential in supporting a more independent and sustainable agricultural system
