<![CDATA[Awareness of citizens' rights, obligations, and opportunities for participation is an important foundation for meaningful involvement in village governance. This community service activity aimed to strengthen civic understanding among participants in Kasomalang Wetan Village, Subang Regency, through a contextual and participatory civic education approach. The activity was held at the Kasomalang Wetan Village Office on 30 July 2026 and involved 42 participants, comprising 17 university students, 3 hamlet heads, 7 RW leaders, 5 Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) members, and 10 village officials. The program consisted of a pretest, an interactive session on citizens' rights and obligations, case-based discussion, question-and-answer activities, and a posttest. Participants' understanding was assessed using a 15-item instrument covering rights, obligations, participation channels, and the application of civic concepts to everyday village situations. Using a one-group pretest-posttest design, the scores were analyzed descriptively. The mean score increased from 68.5 to 82.3, representing a gain of 13.8 points or 20.1%. The discussion topics showed that participants related civic concepts to village deliberations, public services, mutual cooperation, and the responsible expression of aspirations. The observed score difference reflects an immediate increase in civic understanding after the activity; it does not demonstrate sustained change in participatory behavior, which requires longer-term follow-up.]]>
