Abstract

Introduction: This study aimed to describe pregnant women's perceptions of digital NCD symptom monitoring and its relationship with digital health application acceptance. Methods: This cross-sectional study aimed to examine the association between pregnant women's perception of non-communicable disease (NCD) risk and their perception of digital health application acceptance in urban Indonesia. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire assessing the frequency of use and perceived effectiveness on a 5-point Likert scale. All indicators were valid (r > 0.361, based on the pilot sample of n = 30), and the instrument demonstrated high reliability in the main study (Cronbach's alpha: 0.923 for NCD perception and 0.975 for application perception). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, bivariate analysis, and simple linear regression. Results: Perception of NCD risk was significantly associated with the use of digital health applications (β = 0.863; p < 0.001). Most respondents (93.2%) reported using health apps, although 18% experienced technical difficulties. The coefficient of determination (Adjusted R² = 0.742) indicated that NCD risk perception explained 74.2% of the variance in digital health application perception. Conclusions: Stronger perceptions of NCD risk increased the likelihood of using digital health applications. Digital-based symptom monitoring has the potential to support the early detection of pregnancy complications related to NCDs. Clinical outcome data were unavailable due to incomplete medical records.
