Abstract

This research aims to design and build a microcontroller-based testing tool for timer and contactor contacts, specifically to detect NO and NC contact conditions and to verify ON-delay and OFF-delay timer functions more easily, quickly, and accurately than manual methods. The developed device utilizes a microcontroller and components such as relay modules, push-buttons, and LEDs to automatically test NO and NC contact states and monitor timer functions. The system operates by applying a test signal to the contacts under inspection, reading changes in load current and voltage, and displaying test results in real-time. Research results demonstrate that the device effectively detects contact conditions, displays status information instantly, and measures time delays with millisecond precision. Furthermore, the device identifies faulty or unstable contacts, thereby facilitating the analysis of component conditions. Based on testing outcomes, the tool is considered more practical, rapid, and efficient than manual testing using a multimeter. Thus, the designed microcontroller-based testing tool successfully meets the research objectives and holds potential for use as an aid in laboratory practice, education, and electrical equipment maintenance.
