Abstract

This research aims to design and develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based automatic multiproduct drying system capable of drying chili, salted fish, and kemplang in a single integrated device. The system employs an ESP32 microcontroller as the main controller, a DHT22 sensor for temperature and humidity monitoring, a heating element as the heat source, and blower and exhaust fans for air circulation. Measurement data are transmitted to an IoT platform, enabling users to monitor the drying process in real time through a smartphone. Experimental testing was conducted on three different products with specific temperature settings according to their drying requirements. The results indicate that the system can maintain the drying chamber temperature with an average deviation of ±2°C from the desired setpoint. Furthermore, the drying process was accelerated by approximately 30–40% compared to conventional sun-drying methods. The implementation of IoT technology improves monitoring efficiency, maintains product quality, and reduces dependence on weather conditions. Therefore, the proposed system has significant potential for application in small and medium-scale agricultural and fishery enterprises.
