General Background Reading forms the foundation for nations to build superior human resources, document experiences, and solve problems, yet lower reading literacy poses a primary challenge in Indonesian education. Specific Background This descriptive qualitative study examines the strategies for utilizing school reading corners, along with supporting and inhibiting factors in fostering reading interest among students at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Babat. Knowledge Gap Although literacy habits and reading corners are vital for educational quality, practical implementations often suffer from unoptimized facilities, unattractive spatial arrangements, and limited book collections. Aims This study aims to determine utilization strategies, supporting factors, and inhibiting factors regarding reading corners in growing students' reading interest. Results Findings show that utilization strategies involve equipping every classroom with reading corners featuring varied reading sources, implementing reward programs to motivate students, and optimizing the fifteen-minute reading habit before learning activities, while internal factors include students' reading abilities and external factors encompass existing reading corners despite inadequate facilities and book collections. Novelty This work details the practical integration of classroom reading corners with school literacy habits and reward programs within an Islamic primary school setting. Implications These findings establish that upgrading reading corner facilities, diversifying book collections, and maintaining reading habituation programs are essential for successfully cultivating student literacy and academic performance. Highlights: Equipping every classroom with a reading corner featuring varied literature sources and reward programs successfully motivates students to engage in literacy activities. Student reading capabilities serve as key internal supporting factors, whereas existing reading corner spaces provide basic external modal despite optimization challenges.
