Abstract

General Background Schools have long been trusted as safe and friendly institutions for developing knowledge, character, and mutual care, yet many children still face physical and non-physical pressures, violence, and bullying within educational environments. Specific Background This study describes the learning model based on the concept of child-friendly schools implemented at MI Tahdzibul Fuad Socorejo Jenu Tuban using a qualitative approach with a case study design. Knowledge Gap Despite national policies and legal frameworks protecting children in educational institutions, practical implementations require detailed examination regarding how specific learning models and child-friendly principles are actualized in classroom settings. Aims This study aims to describe the learning model based on the concept of child-friendly schools at MI Tahdzibul Fuad Socorejo Jenu Tuban. Results Utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, and documentation analyzed through Miles and Huberman's theory, the findings show that the school fulfills child-friendly principles including non-discrimination, children's best interests, survival and development, respect for children's views, and good management, while applying PAIKEMI learning through active learning, problem-based learning, and project-based learning models. Novelty This work details the practical integration of Islamic-based active, innovative, creative, effective, and joyful learning frameworks within a recognized child-friendly primary madrasah model. Implications These findings confirm that structuring educational activities around child-friendly principles and student-centered learning models successfully protects children's rights while fostering active participation and academic development.
