The implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP) in manual tea shoot plucking requires an effective organizational communication system to ensure that work instruction and quality standard are consistently understood and implemented by tea pickers. This study aims to analyze the organizational communication patterns applied in the implementation of manual tea shoot plucking standards at PT Melania Indonesia Cibuni Estate. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through participatory observation, interviews, documentation, and direct involvement during an internship conducted from February-July 2026. The research informants consisted of the Field Assistant, manual plucking supervisors, and manual tea pickers involved in the plucking process. Data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing based on field observations and interview findings. The results indicate that the organizational communication pattern adopted by the company is a two-way communication system integrating both top-down and bottom-up communication flows. Top-down communication is implemented through morning assemblies, work briefings, production target dissemination, technical guidance, and direct supervision of SOP implementation. Conversely, bottom-up communication on field constraints from tea pickers to supervisors. Supervisors serve as the primary communication actors who bridge managerial policies with tea pickers while simultaneously conveying field information to the management level. This communication pattern supports work coordination, strengthens employees’ understanding of operational standards, and promotes the consistent implementation of SOP to achieve tea shoot quality in accordance with the company’s standards.
