<![CDATA[This research is motivated by the low learning motivation of students in Science subject in grade IV of Ngaresrejo Elementary School, Sidoarjo. The learning process that is still centered on the teacher causes students to be less active, less enthusiastic and less interested in participating in learning. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of student learning motivation before and after the implementation of Word Square media and to analyze the effect of the application of the media on student learning motivation. The research method The approach used is quantitative with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, the subjects of this study were grade IV students of Ngaresrejo Elem entary School with a total sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire, pretest and posttest of learning motivation with 20 statement items, which after being tested for validity produced 15 valid statement items and had a Cronbach's Alpha reliability value of 0.781 so that it was declared reliable. The results showed that the average student learning motivation before the implementation of Word Square media was 51.09 and increased after the implementation of Word Square media to . The results of the hypothesis test indicate a significant effect of the implementation of Word Square media on student learning motivation in science.
