Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using Google Slides assisted by Pear Deck on the Biology learning outcomes of eleventh-grade students on the topic of photosynthesis. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design, was employed, involving an experimental class taught using Google Slides assisted by Pear Deck and a control class taught using conventional methods. Data were collected through tests, documentation, and field notes, and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics Version 29, including the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's homogeneity test, an independent-samples t-test, and Cohen's d effect size calculation. The results indicate that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous, and the independent-samples t-test showed a statistically significant difference in posttest scores between the experimental and control groups, with a large effect size. These findings suggest that Google Slides assisted by Pear Deck significantly and substantially improves student learning outcomes in Biology compared to conventional instruction. The study recommends the wider adoption of interactive digital media in Biology teaching, particularly for abstract topics requiring visualization and active student engagement.
