Abstract

Baubau City is one of the cities located on Buton Island and has assets in the form of historical architecture that is quite famous (Ramadhani et al., 2024). Various tourist attractions are in several locations, such as Badia Fort Nature Reserve, Sorawolio Fort, and Buton Palace Fort. In addition, Baubau City also has conservation areas that include natural resources and heritage cities. This is potential if managed properly as a cultural heritage-based tourist destination, thus providing opportunities for the community to learn and preserve the history and culture of Baubau City. To accommodate the existing potential and constraints, it is important to conduct research in the planning and design process. The purpose of this research is to develop a conceptual design of a tourism cottage resort in the heritage area of Murhum Sub-district, Baubau City, Buton Island, Southeast Sulawesi Province. This tourism resort cottage landscape planning concept is made with an architectural and ecological approach, which combines physical and non-physical conditions, and is designed by utilizing existing views and contours to produce a planning concept that is harmonious with the natural environment.
