Abstract

 This study was motivated by the low argumentative writing skills of fourth-grade students at MI Al-Huda Rejowinangun. Students had difficulty developing ideas, presenting logical reasons, and organizing arguments coherently. The study aimed to determine the effect of the Draw and Opinion strategy on students’ argumentative writing skills. A quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest–Posttest design was used. The sample consisted of 28 students selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected through writing tests, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk test, and the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The mean score increased from 65.21 on the pretest to 83.39 on the posttest, an increase of 18.18 points. The Wilcoxon test showed Z = -4.481 and Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05. Thus, the Draw and Opinion strategy had a significant effect on the argumentative writing skills of fourth-grade students at MI Al-Huda Rejowinangun in the 2025/2026 academic year.
