Abstract

Abstract Purpose: Previous studies have reported inconsistent findings regarding the effects of organizational culture and transformational leadership on teacher performance, indicating an empirical gap concerning factors that strengthen these relationships. This study aims to analyze the effects of organizational culture and transformational leadership on teacher performance and examine the moderating role of organizational commitment among teachers at Centers of Excellence Vocational High Schools (SMK PK) in Tangerang City. Research Methodology: This study employs a quantitative approach with a causal design using a survey method. Data were collected from 120 teachers at six SMK PK in Tangerang City selected through total sampling. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4, including measurement model evaluation, structural model testing, and moderation analysis through bootstrapping. Results: Organizational culture positively and significantly affects teacher performance (β = 0.398, p < 0.001), and transformational leadership also has a positive significant effect (β = 0.351, p < 0.001). Organizational commitment strengthens the relationship between organizational culture and teacher performance (β = 0.393, p < 0.001) and between transformational leadership and teacher performance (β = 0.268, p < 0.001). The model explains 80.5% of the variance in teacher performance (R² = 0.805). Conclusion: Organizational commitment functions as an important moderating mechanism that enhances the effectiveness of organizational culture and transformational leadership in improving teacher performance. Contribution: This study contributes theoretically by extending educational management literature on moderating mechanisms affecting teacher performance and provides managerial implications for strengthening organizational culture, transformational leadership, and organizational commitment. Limitations: This study is limited to SMK PK in Tangerang City and uses a cross-sectional survey design; therefore, future studies should expand samples, apply longitudinal approaches, and consider additional variables.
