Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the application of wayang media using role-playing methods in Pancasila education as well as the improvement of students' character development. The research design used is Classroom Action Research. The research subjects were 29 fourth grade students of SD Negeri Rawajaya 04. The results of this study show that the learning outcomes in Cycle I were 81.73% in the good category, and Cycle II reached 97.39% in the very good category. The results regarding students' character showed that in Cycle I, the acquisition of the character of Faithful and Devout to God Almighty was in the good category with a percentage of 83%, and in Cycle II, it increased to 90%, still in the good category. The character of mutual cooperation (Gotong Royong) in Cycle I was 62%, which increased to 83% in Cycle II, also in the good category. The Independent character was obtained at 66% in Cycle I and increased to 86% in Cycle II, within the good category. Critical thinking character can be obtained in cycle I at 59% and in cycle II at 79% in the fairly good category. From the data obtained in cycles I and II, it is known that based on this achievement, overall, the character of fourth-grade students is said to have improved and reached the success indicator of ≥75%. The conclusion of this study is that it is stated that puppetry media with the role-playing method can enhance the formation of students' character.
