Abstract

The habit of postponing tasks or academic procrastination is a common problem experienced by students, which can have a negatively on academic performance and mental health. This problem is caused due to the lack of ability of students' time management skills. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a psychoeducational intervention based on the Eisenhower Matrix technique in reducing students' time management skills. Eisenhower Matrix technique in reducing students' procrastination habits. The method used in this study is quantitative with an experimental design of One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 63 students who have a high level of procrastination, which was selected using purposive sampling technique. Measurement was done through academic procrastination scale before and after the intervention. The results showed that the Eisenhower Matrix-based intervention was effective in reducing students' procrastination level, as shown by the results of the Eisenhower Matrix-based intervention. procrastination level of students, indicated by an increase in the number of students in the category of low procrastination category from 12.7% to 36.5%, as well as a decrease in the category of category from 17.5% to 1.6%. The results of the paired sample t-test statistical test showed significant difference before and after the intervention (t = 9.130, p < 0.05). Thus, this intervention is proven to help students in improving their time management skills and prioritize tasks more effectively. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of implementing the Eisenhower Matrix strategy in academic guidance and counseling to improve students' time management skills.
