Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Al-Islam Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Karanganyar in the 2025/2026 academic year and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The study focuses on the aspects of planning, implementation, and evaluation of Al-Islam learning as a distinctive Muhammadiyah curriculum integrated with the national curriculum. This research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive case study design. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving Islamic Religious Education teachers and students as research subjects, as well as the principal, Al-Islam teachers, and students as research informants. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, while data analysis applied the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the implementation of the Al-Islam Curriculum is carried out through learning planning, the implementation of learning activities and religious habituation programs, as well as evaluation covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Supporting factors include school policies, teacher competence, infrastructure facilities, and a religious school culture. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited learning time, differences in students’ religious backgrounds, and difficulties experienced by some students in understanding religious materials.
