Abstract

This study aims to describe the madrasa principal's strategies for strengthening student discipline at MI Darul Ulum Sidoarjo. It employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. The research subjects include the madrasa principal, the deputy principal, homeroom teachers, and other teachers. Data collection techniques involved interviews, observation, and document analysis. The data were analyzed descriptively based on three strategic stages: formulation, implementation, and evaluation. The results indicate that the principal's strategies for strengthening student discipline were executed in a planned, systematic, and sustainable manner. During the formulation stage, the principal developed programs focused on habituating discipline, enforcing rules, and fostering character. In the implementation stage, these programs were carried out through practices such as arriving on time, praying before and after lessons, maintaining classroom cleanliness, modeling disciplined behavior (by the principal and teachers), enforcing regulations, guiding students who violated rules, and maintaining ongoing communication with parents. During the evaluation stage, the principal monitored student discipline and evaluated the programs in collaboration with the teachers. These strategies contributed to shaping disciplined student character, thereby fostering a culture of discipline supported by cooperation among the principal, teachers, students, and parents.
