Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of instilling moral values in Pancasila Education learning on the topic of Gotong Royong (Mutual Cooperation) in the Local Environment among Grade V students of SD 1 Ngembal Kulon, along with its supporting and inhibiting factors. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with the Pancasila Education teacher and eight Grade V students as subjects, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity tested through source, method, and theory triangulation. Eight moral values were found, namely religiosity, honesty, discipline, responsibility, democratic attitude, independence, love of the homeland, and social concern, instilled through classroom learning, school habituation, teacher exemplary conduct, and real-life-based assignments. Supporting factors included school habituation, teacher role modeling, parental involvement, a child activity journal, and a conducive school environment, while inhibiting factors included uncontrolled gadget use, peer influence, and limited parental supervision. This study reveals the child activity journal as a novel mechanism strengthening school-family synergy on the rarely studied topic of Gotong Royong, offering practical implications for teachers designing character-based Pancasila Education.
