Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of the role-playing method in classical guidance services to enhance high school students' awareness of child grooming. The research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive narrative method. The participants were tenth-grade students of Al Irsyad Senior High School, Tegal, selected through purposive sampling. Data was collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, and supported by pre-test and post-test results to describe changes in students' awareness. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data credibility was ensured through technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the implementation of the role-playing method created an active, participatory, and contextual guidance process. Students demonstrated improved understanding of the concept, characteristics, stages, risks, and prevention of child grooming, supported by an increase in awareness scores from 84.67% in the pre-test to 92.15% in the post-test. These findings suggest that the role-playing method can be implemented as an alternative strategy in classical guidance services to strengthen students' digital safety literacy and awareness of child grooming.

Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) group counseling in reducing career indecision among tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Kota Tegal. Method: A quantitative pre-experimental approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The population consisted of 357 tenth-grade students, with a purposive sample of eight students from Class X-9 who demonstrated high levels of career indecision. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using a paired-samples t-test. Results: The mean career indecision score decreased from 149.38 in the pretest to 123.25 in the posttest. The paired-samples t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that SFBC group counseling significantly reduced students' career indecision. Novelty: This study introduces an SFBC-based group counseling intervention specifically designed to address career indecision among high school students influenced by parental expectations, providing a brief, solution-oriented, and practical guidance and counseling intervention.
