Abstract

Indonesia is currently facing complex challenges in developing its human resources (HR). The current mindset of human resources tends to be more oriented toward becoming job seekers, with the aspirations of many young Indonesians focused on becoming civil servants or working for private companies. This mindset may further weaken the competence of human resources in the era of Industry 4.0. To enable human resources to compete in the Industry 4.0 era, education is needed that promotes individual innovation practices and empowers students to generate innovations, thereby fostering an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age. However, entrepreneurship education at an early age has not yet been fully incorporated into the lower secondary education curriculum. Therefore, activities are needed to instill and develop an entrepreneurial spirit among secondary school students from an early age. One sector with significant potential and entrepreneurial value that is often overlooked is agriculture. The agricultural sector can serve as a starting point for fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among secondary school students, as several agricultural systems that are environmentally friendly and easy to develop are currently available, one of which is urban farming. Urban farming, also known as urban agriculture, is an agricultural development approach that can be implemented by anyone with limited land and capital. This system does not require substantial capital or large areas of land and can be developed by utilizing school grounds. Therefore, the objective of this activity is to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among secondary school students from an early age through the introduction of urban farming. The implementation of this activity consists of several stages, including counseling, training, mentoring, and evaluation. Another output of this activity is the publication of a community service journal article
