Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) among pregnant women remains a significant public health issue, especially in Central Java, Indonesia, where the prevalence is notably higher than the national average. This study aims to identify the local determinants of the high incidence of CED using Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR), a spatial regression approach that accounts for spatial heterogeneity in the relationships between variables. The research uses secondary data from the 2023 Village Development Index (IDI) to examine social and health indicators across Central Java. The findings highlight that access to adequate sanitation plays a significant role in CED incidence, with limited access to sanitation a key risk factor across all regions. This study provides valuable insights into the spatial variability of CED determinants, underscoring the need for targeted interventions that account for regional characteristics to reduce CED risks among pregnant women.
