This research was motivated by the willing of the researchers to increase ability to understand facts and opinions in advertising texts among fifth-grade students at MI Al-Muwazanah 2 Pranggang. Teacher-centered learning results in students being less active, resulting in suboptimal learning outcomes. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) cooperative learning model on the ability to understand facts and opinions in advertising texts among fifth-grade students at MI Al-Muwazanah 2 Pranggang. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design and a nonequivalent control group design. The study population consisted of 43 fifth-grade students: class VA (21 students) as the experimental class and class VB (22 students) as the control class. The sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through written pretests and posttests consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and independent sample t-tests using SPSS version 21. The results showed that the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) cooperative learning model significantly influenced the ability to understand facts and opinions in advertising texts. This was demonstrated by the Independent Sample t-test significance value of 0.001 (<0.05), thus H₁ was accepted and H₀ was rejected.
