Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in improving employee job satisfaction at the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Cinere Fire Department, Depok City. This research is motivated by the high risk of work accidents faced by firefighters, as well as indications of job dissatisfaction related to OHS implementation conditions in the field. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through field observation and in-depth interviews with five purposively selected informants, consisting of the Head of UPT, Squad Commander, Operational Member, Administrative Staff, and Security Officer. Data were analyzed using NVivo software through Word Frequency Query, Mind Mapping, and Project Map. The results showed that OHS implementation has generally been running but has not been fully optimal, particularly regarding personal protective equipment (PPE) availability, training distribution, and organizational support consistency. All OHS elements studied have a close relationship with job satisfaction through eight linkage pathways. Furthermore, social solidarity and family-like bonds among employees serve as a strong compensating factor supporting job satisfaction even when physical OHS conditions have not been fully optimal.
