Abstract

The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has encouraged the implementation of automation systems in the livestock sector, particularly to improve the efficiency of chicken feeding processes. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the protection system and wiring design in a smart chicken feeder to ensure safety, reliability, and operational efficiency. The system is designed using a microcontroller, sensors, actuators, and an electrical network equipped with protection components such as fuses, miniature circuit breakers (MCB), and grounding systems to prevent overcurrent, short circuits, and potential device damage. The research method includes wiring diagram design, power requirements analysis, protection system evaluation, and performance testing of the device under operational conditions. The analysis results show that the implementation of an appropriate protection system can improve device safety, reduce the risk of electronic component damage, and ensure continuous automatic and scheduled feeding. The feasibility study concludes that the designed protection and wiring system meets technical, economic, and operational aspects, making it suitable for implementation as an appropriate technology solution to support productivity in automated poultry farming.
