Abstract

A quantitative research framework employing a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group configuration was operationalized to examine the developmental impact of emotional expression card media on the socio-emotional intelligence profiles of young children aged 5–6 years at TKIT Cilukba Cilegon. Managed via a total sampling technique based on active institutional enrollment was the recruitment of a final sample size consisting of 46 children, partitioned symmetrically into an experimental group () and a control group (). Systematic data collection relied on structured observational rubrics engineered around Goleman’s emotional intelligence framework and the Child Development Achievement Level Standards (STPPA), supplemented by institutional documentation. Content validity was secured through rigorous expert judgment panels, followed by internal consistency verification yielding a Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.933. Computational processing via IBM SPSS Statistics version 31 demonstrated a mean gain score of 19 points for the experimental cohort, vastly outperforming the control group’s score of 4 points. Inferential modeling via the Independent Samples -test documented a critical -value of 18.904 (-table = 2.015) with an exact significance of , confirming the rejection of the null hypothesis. Consequently, institutional integration of this visual medium serves as a powerful mechanism to expand maternal emotional identification, self-regulation, empathy, and positive peer interactions.
