Abstract

The increasing global energy demand and dependence on fossil fuels have accelerated the need for sustainable renewable energy development. One promising technology is micro-scale solar photovoltaic power generation, which can provide independent electricity supply for rural communities, remote islands, and areas with limited access to conventional electricity networks. This study aims to analyze the implementation of micro-scale solar power plants in supporting sustainable energy through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. A total of 29 international and national scientific publications published between 2005 and 2025 were systematically reviewed using narrative synthesis techniques. The findings indicate that micro-scale solar power plants significantly improve energy accessibility, reduce carbon emissions, strengthen community energy independence, and stimulate local economic development. The integration of microgrid systems, rooftop photovoltaics, microinverters, and energy storage technologies enhances operational efficiency and electricity reliability. Furthermore, successful implementation is influenced by government support, community participation, economic feasibility, and technology suitability to local conditions. This study confirms that micro-scale solar power plants represent a strategic solution for accelerating sustainable energy transitions and supporting low-carbon development goals in developing countries.
