Abstract

Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) are a source of plants that can be utilized to support health while serving as an educational medium for the younger generation. This community service activity aimed to improve students’ knowledge and skills in identifying the types, benefits, planting, maintenance, and processing of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA). The activity was conducted at SMPN 1 Waringinkurung on August 7, 2026, using a participatory approach. The activity methods included material delivery, discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on practices in planting and processing medicinal plants. The participants were students of SMPN 1 Waringinkurung who actively participated in the entire series of activities. The results showed that the students gained a better understanding of the types and benefits of medicinal plants, as well as practical experience in planting, maintaining, and processing medicinal plants into simple products. The activity also provided an applicable learning experience by integrating health and environmental aspects into the learning process. Therefore, training in the planting and processing of TOGA can serve as an educational medium to improve students’ knowledge, skills, and awareness of the utilization of medicinal plants and the sustainable management of the school environment.
