Maintaining oral hygiene is essential for preventing oral diseases among school-aged children. The implementation of the School Dental Health Program (UKGS) at SD Negeri 5 Kutapanjang has not been fully optimized, resulting in inadequate oral hygiene maintenance behavior among some students. Health education using the demonstration method provides direct practical experience and is expected to improve students' oral hygiene behavior. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education using the demonstration method on oral hygiene maintenance behavior among students of SD Negeri 5 Kutapanjang, Gayo Lues Regency. This study employed a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The population consisted of all third-, fourth-, and fifth-grade students, totaling 56 students. The sample was selected using the total sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed through univariate analysis and the Paired Sample t-Test. Before the intervention, 32 students (57.1%) demonstrated good oral hygiene maintenance behavior, while 24 students (42.9%) were categorized as poor. After the intervention, all respondents (100%) were categorized as having good behavior. The mean behavior score increased from 54.43 before the intervention to 83.59 after the intervention, with a mean difference of 29.16. The Paired Sample t-Test yielded a p-value of 0.001 (p<0.05), indicating a statistically significant effect of the demonstration method on oral hygiene maintenance behavior. Health education using the demonstration method effectively improved students' oral hygiene maintenance behavior.
