Abstract

This study aims to determine and explain the influence of Discipline and Competence on employee performance at PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional II Kebun Air Batu Asahan. The population in this study was 562 employees of PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV. The sampling technique used was the Slovin formula, with 85 employees. This type of research is quantitative. Data collection techniques used primary and secondary data.The data analysis methods used were validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, partial hypothesis testing (t-test) and simultaneous testing (f-test), and the coefficient of determination (R2) test using SPSS. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis indicate that work discipline has a positive and significant effect on employee competence. Employee competence has a significant effect on employee performance, and work discipline and competence have a significant effect on employee entrepreneurial performance at PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional II Kebun Air Batu Asahan at a significance level of 5%.The results of the study indicate that work discipline has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a calculated t-value of 4.507, greater than the t-table value of 1.99006, and a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. Competence also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a calculated t-value of 5.905, greater than the t-table value of 1.99006, and a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. Simultaneously, work discipline and competence have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, as indicated by a calculated F-value of 24.971, greater than the F-table value of 3.11, and a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 37.95% indicates that work discipline and competence explain 37.95% of the variation in employee performance, while the remaining 62.1% is influenced by other variables outside the study.
