Abstract

Basic immunization is an effective measure for preventing infectious diseases in infants. The completeness of basic immunization is influenced by various factors, one of which is family support. This study aimed to determine the relationship between family support and the completeness of basic immunization among infants aged 0–11 months in the working area of ​​the Bahu Community Health Center (Puskesmas) in Manado City. A cross-sectional study design was employed with a sample of 61 respondents selected using total sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods, specifically Fisher's Exact Test. The results showed that 55 respondents (90.2%) received good family support, while 6 respondents (9.8%) received poor family support. A total of 55 infants (90.2%) had received complete basic immunization, whereas 6 infants (9.8%) had not. Bivariate analysis yielded a p-value of 1.000 (p > 0.05), indicating no significant relationship between family support and the completeness of basic immunization among infants in the Bahu Community Health Center's working area. It is concluded that the completeness of basic immunization in this study was not associated with family support and was likely influenced by other factors, such as access to healthcare services, education provided by health workers, and the implementation of the immunization program.
