Abstract

The development of science and technology in the era of globalization has a significant impact on society. On one hand, science and technology improve the quality of life and increase efficiency in various fields. On the other hand, these developments also bring challenges such as moral decline, misuse of technology, and the fading of national cultural identity. This study aims to analyze the role of Pancasila as a foundation for the development of science and technology as well as to identify the challenges of its implementation in the era of globalization. The research method used is a literature study with secondary data sources from journals, books, and scientific articles. The results show that Pancasila plays an important role as an ethical foundation in the development of science and technology. The values of Pancasila are able to maintain a balance between technological advancement and humanitarian values. The main challenges lie in the influence of globalization, hedonism, and the weak internalization of Pancasila values. Therefore, strengthening character education, digital literacy, and government policies is needed to ensure that science and technology development remains aligned with national values.
