Abstract

Bullying in schools poses a serious threat to students' mental health and the learning environment. Such behavior ranging from mockery, insults, and physical harassment to social exclusion requires a systematic response. From an Islamic perspective, bullying contradicts religious values that emphasize mutual respect and the fostering of brotherhood. This is underscored by Surah Al-Hujurat 11, which forbids believers from belittling, mocking, or assigning derogatory nicknames to one another. This article aims to examine school-based bullying prevention strategies grounded in Islamic values and to analyze the role of Guidance and Counseling teachers in implementing them. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach based on a review of literature, including Quranic verses, Hadith, books, and relevant journals. The findings indicate that bullying conflicts with Islamic teachings due to its inherent elements of humiliation, disparagement, and violence. Islamic values such as muhasabah (self-reflection), muraqabah (awareness of God's presence), mahabbah (love/compassion), musyawarah (consultation), mas’uliyah (responsibility), and adab (proper conduct) can serve as preventive measures against bullying. Guidance and Counseling teachers play roles as planners, educators, facilitators, advocates, and coordinators in integrating these values into counseling services. Thus, strategies based on Islamic values can help create a safe, morally grounded, and bullying-free school environment.
