Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of variety of learning media used to recognize number symbols in group A children at Nusa Bangsa Betet Kepohbaru Bojonegoro A Kindergarten so that cognitive abilities in recognizing number symbols are less than optimal. Therefore, it is necessary to develop media to stimulate the ability to recognize number symbols 1-10 in group A children, namely by using the Number Bag media. Number bag is a media in the form of a board with pockets as storage space equipped with flashcards (picture cards). This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) which refers to the research and development model according to Borg and Gall which includes 10 stages. Observation and documentation techniques are used in the research data collection technique. The assessment of material experts obtained an average score of 3.8 with a feasibility percentage of 77.5%, and was categorized as "feasible". While media experts obtained an average score of 4.0 with a feasibility percentage of 86% and were categorized as "very feasible". The results of the initial trial with 5 children obtained an average result of 3.72 with a percentage value of 93% and were categorized as "very feasible". Meanwhile, the trial of use in a large group of 11 children, obtained an average result of 3.56 with a percentage value of 89% and categorized as "very feasible". Based on these data, it can be concluded that the Number Bag media is feasible to be used to stimulate cognitive abilities to recognize number symbols 1-10 in children in group A.
