Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of Network Centric Warfare (NCW) within the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) as part of defense modernization and national resilience enhancement efforts. Confronted with evolving multidimensional threats, both countries require adaptive, integrated, and information-driven defense systems. Using a descriptive qualitative method through literature review, analysis of defense strategy documents, and comparative evaluation of NCW implementation in both institutions, this study examines how the integration ofinformation technology, sensor systems, command and control (C2), and communication networks contributes to operational effectiveness. The findings indicate that NCW significantly improves situational awareness, decision-making speed, and cross-domain coordination. However, challenges remain, particularly in communication infrastructure, human resource readiness, system interoperability, and defense budget limitations. The study further emphasizes NCW's strategic relevance in strengthening national resilience, especially within the geostrategic context of Indonesia and Malaysia, which face maritime, cyber, and hybrid threats. This research recommends increased technological investment, enhanced digital defense training, standardized interoperability, and the use of NCW as a key pillar in regional defense cooperation.
