Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in supporting economic growth and development; however, many enterprises continue to encounter challenges related to product certification and market expansion. Poklahsar Berkah Manis Sekumpul, a fish-processing group, previously relied on existing customers and conventional word-to-mouth promotion and had limited knowledge of Home Industry Food Certification (PIRT) and digital marketing. This community service program sought to increase the awareness and capabilities of the group members concerning product legality and utilizing digital technology to promote fish-processing products. The program was conducted on May 14, 2026, through a participatory approach consisting of pre-test, material presentation, discussion sessions, and post-test evaluation. The activities covered PIRT certification requirements and procedures, as well as the use of social media platforms as digital promotional tools for product marketing and market expansion. Participant learning outcomes were evaluated using both test assessments. The findings revealed a significant enhancement in participants’ understanding, with average scores increasing by 42.5%, from 39.16% in the pre-test to 81.66% in the post-test. The program produced practical outputs in the form of increased participant understanding of PIRT certification and digital marketing, as well as increased readiness to initiate the PIRT application process and utilize social media for product promotion. This integrated approach provides a practical foundation for expanding market reach, strengthening product competitiveness, and supporting the sustainable development of fish-processing MSMEs.
