Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, risk tolerance, financial technology, and loss aversion bias on investment decisions among students at Slamet Riyadi University, Surakarta. The study is motivated by the growing trend of investment among students, which is increasingly supported by easy access to information and financial technology. However, this ease of access has not always been accompanied by the ability to make sound investment decisions. The research method used was quantitative, with primary data obtained through a questionnaire administered to 100 respondents using purposive sampling. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability. Classical assumption tests included the following: normality test, multicollinearity test, autocorrelation test, heteroscedasticity test, t-test, F-test, and R² test. The results of the validity and reliability tests indicate that all statements regarding the influence of financial literacy, risk tolerance, financial technology, and loss aversion bias were found to be valid with a significance level of < 0.05, and all variables were reliable with a Cronbach’s Alpha value > 0.60. The regression analysis yielded the equation Y = 0.168 + 0.293X₁ − 0.144X₂ + 0.137X₃ + 0.817X₄ + e. The t-test results show that financial literacy, financial technology, and loss aversion bias have a significant positive effect on investment decisions. However, risk tolerance has a significant negative effect on investment decisions.
