<![CDATA[This research is motivated by the difficulty of student motivation in learning and students have difficulty understanding abstract concepts in the subject of science class V so that a learning strategy is needed as a solution to the problem, namely the deep learning approach. This study aims to determine the effect of the deep learning approach assisted by KOSICA media on learning motivation and understanding of the concept of light properties of fifth grade elementary school students. This study uses a quantitative pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest posttest design. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling which then obtained class VA as many as 27 students as samples. Data collection uses observation sheets, questionnaires, and questions. Then testing is carried out using SPSS 25. Data analysis includes prerequisite tests and hypothesis tests. Prerequisite tests include normality tests and linearity tests while hypothesis tests include descriptive analysis tests and simple linear regression tests. The descriptive statistical test shows that there is an increase in the average pretest and posttest of learning motivation by 26.02% which means Ha is accepted, meaning that there is an influence of the deep learning approach assisted by KOSICA media on learning motivation and understanding of the concept of the properties of light on students' learning motivation and understanding of the concept also increased by 31.08% which means Ha is accepted, meaning that there is an influence of the deep learning approach assisted by KOSICA media on understanding the concept of the properties of light. Then the simple linear regression test produces the equation y = 104.942 + -0.344x with a sig value of 0.348>0.05 which shows that learning motivation does not affect the understanding of the concept of the properties of light of class VA students. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh sulitnya motivasi siswa dalam belajar dan siswa kesulitan memahami konsep yang bersifat abstrak pada mata pelajaran IPAS kelas V sehingga dipelukan strategi pembelajaran sebagai solusi permaslahan tersebut yaitu pendekatan deep learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan deep leanring berbantuan media KOSICA terhadap motivasi belajar dan pemahaman konsep sifat cahaya siswa kelas V SD. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif pre eksperimen dengan desain one grup pretest posttest design. Teknik sampling menggunakan puposive sampling yang kemudian diperoleh kelas VA sebanyak 27 siswa sebagai sampel. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi, angket, dan soal. Kemudian dilakukan pengujian menggunakan SPSS 25. Analisis data meliputi uji prasyarat dan uji hipotesis. Uji prasyarat meliputi uji normalitas dan uji linieritas sedangkan uji hipotesis meliputi uji analisis deskriptif dan uji regresi linier sederhana. Uji deskriptif statistik menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan rata-rata pretest dan posttest motivasi belajar sebesar 26,02% yang berarti Ha diterima, artinya terdapat pengaruh pendekatan deep learning berbantuan media KOSICA terhadap motivasi belajar dan pemahaman konsep sifat cahaya terhadap motivasi belajar siswa dan pemahaman konsep juga mengalami peningkatan sebesar 31,08% yang berarti Ha diterima, artinya terdapat pengaruh pendekatan deep learning berbantuan media KOSICA terhadap pemahaman konsep sifat cahaya. Kemudian uji regresi linier sederhana menghasilkan persamaan y = 104.942 + -0,344x dengan nilai sig sebesar 0,348>0,05 yang menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar tidak berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep sifat cahaya siswa kelas VA. ]]>
