Abstract

Islamic communication ethics offers an ideal guideline for affiliate marketing practices, yet in reality, violations such as false claims, concealment of product defects, and promotion of prohibited goods by affiliates are still found. This research aims to analyze communication ethics in Islamic affiliate marketing practices using the framework of shiddiq (honesty), amanah (responsibility), tabligh (transparency), and fathanah (wisdom), as well as comparing their implementation in Indonesia and Nigeria. This research is classified as library research with a qualitative approach and comparative strategy. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation by tracing literature from academic databases, while data analysis used content analysis and comparative analysis. The findings reveal that Indonesia has an established regulatory framework through DSN-MUI fatwas but faces a gap between norms and practice, while Nigeria demonstrates growing Sharia awareness at the grassroots level despite the absence of a national fatwa. The contribution of this research is to provide a cross-country comparative analytical framework that integrates Islamic communication ethics with regulatory theory and consumer protection in the context of the digital economy.
