Abstract

General Background Early childhood represents a critical developmental stage where socialization and environmental factors shape long-term behavioral patterns. Specific Background At Taman Pembinaan Anak Sholih Al-Fadhilah Brondong Lamongan, persistent negative behaviors such as abusive language and rule non-compliance frequently disrupt the educational process. Knowledge Gap Although previous studies acknowledge the role of school environments in character formation, specific mechanisms for rectifying these negative behaviors through the implicit social norms of the hidden curriculum require further exploration. Aims This study analyzes the management of bad habits within the context of the hidden curriculum at TAPAS Al-Fadhilah. Results Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach via in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, findings identify prevalent bad habits, including gadget dependency and poor time management, which cause academic decline and social-emotional disturbances. To counter this, the institution applies a preventive approach via character-building programs and a corrective approach utilizing constructive feedback alongside an educational reward-sanction system. Novelty This research maps how implicit socio-educational environments can be systematically manipulated to transform specific detrimental early childhood behaviors into positive developmental habits. Implications Curbing bad habits requires continuous collaboration between schools, parents, and the community, emphasizing the integration of character education and the judicious use of technology within hidden curricula. Highlights: Prevalent bad habits, including gadget dependency and abusive language, severely hinder academic and socio-emotional development. Preventive character-building programs and corrective constructive feedback successfully reshape early childhood behavior patterns. Manipulating the hidden curriculum effectively transforms implicit negative social norms into positive developmental habits.
