Abstract

This study analyzes a comprehensive comparison between two leading cross-platform mobile application development frameworks, namely Flutter and React Native, with a deep focus on development efficiency, application performance, and long-term maintainability aspects. In an increasingly competitive and dynamic era of digital transformation, selecting the right framework is a crucial factor that determines the success of a mobile application project—not only in terms of optimizing development time and costs but also in ensuring the quality of user experience and product sustainability. The research methodology employs a mixed-method experimental approach by developing identical e-commerce application prototypes using both frameworks, accompanied by in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis. Evaluation parameters include runtime performance (frame rate, memory usage, CPU usage), development efficiency (development time, lines of code, learning curve), and ease of maintenance (debugging time, code readability, update deployment). The results indicate that Flutter delivers superior rendering performance with an average frame rate of 58 fps and better UI consistency, while React Native demonstrates higher development efficiency, particularly for developers with a strong JavaScript background. These findings provide strategic guidance for developers, technical leads, and organizations in making informed decisions when selecting the most suitable framework based on project characteristics, team expertise, and long-term business objectives.
