Abstract

Purpose of Study: This study aims to develop a mobile video tutorial based on CERDAS guidelines, a new learning media aimed at enhancing scientific writing ability for students in the TPE Seminar course.Methodology: This study followed the ADDIE model with mixed-methods approach. This study used qualitative methods like needs analysis, expert validation, product revision, and quantitative product success evaluation. The quantitative phase used a one-group pretest–posttest quasi-experimental design and a paired-sample t-test to assess students' scientific writing skills after using the product.Main Findings: The CERDAS Video Tutorials were developed through teamwork, involving the development of content maps and storyboard narratives for the TPE students' video tutorials. Through Canva and CapCut, the video tutorials were developed and later endorsed by professionals to be made available online for free use by all. The study established that CERDAS Video Tutorial had a positive impact on TPE students' scientific writing. The results of the paired-sample t-test showed that there was a remarkable increase from pretest to posttest, with the results increasing from 66.42 to 82.60, which is equivalent to 16.18 on average, p < .05.Novelty/Originality of This Study: Video tutorials improved students' conceptual knowledge, writing arrangement, and analytical skills, according to this study. The video instruction has also been demonstrated to spur pedagogical innovation in the professional teacher education program's relationship between hands-on field experience and scientific writing.
