Abstract

Early marriage among adolescents remains a significant social problem with serious implications for educational continuity, reproductive health, family economic stability, and psychological well-being. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Adolescent School-Age Guidance Program (BRUS) conducted by the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) of Peterongan District in preventing early marriage among madrasah students, with particular emphasis on persuasive communication strategies. Using a descriptive qualitative design with a field-based case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with KUA religious counselors, mentoring teachers, and students, supported by direct observation and document analysis. The findings reveal that the BRUS program effectively integrates persuasive communication in delivering information related to marriage regulations, reproductive health, psychological readiness, and future planning. Interactive dialogue, contextual examples, and empathetic communication encourage students to participate actively, express their concerns openly, and develop greater awareness of the risks associated with early marriage. The study concludes that transforming religious counseling from a predominantly formal and dogmatic approach toward empathetic, participatory, and context-sensitive persuasive communication can strengthen the effectiveness and sustainability of early marriage prevention programs in madrasah settings.
